RYA Vouchers
RYA Vouchers are accepted by over 300 Training Centres around the UK and abroad. It's a perfect way for organisations to give away a training course with marine products as sales incentives or as a reward to its employees.
Learn more about RYA vouchers, how to purchase and where to spend them
You can buy RYA Vouchers online from the RYA Shop or by phone on 02380 604132.
Please note that the members' discount on RYA Publications does not apply to RYA vouchers.
It's also a perfect way for organisations to give away a training course with marine products as sales incentives or as a reward to its employees.
If you are in possession of an RYA Voucher, you can spend it at any participating centre. Use our Find a Training Centre facility to search for further information about any training centre you are interested in.
If you find a convenient centre that is not on the list of redeeming centres, please mention to them that you'd like to use your RYA vouchers... it might just be that they've been too busy to register with us yet, and would be happy to take your vouchers!
Yes, you can spend your vouchers to buy RYA Publications, or as full or part of your payment on Personal Membership of the RYA.
To do so, please place your order directly with our Despatch department on 02380 604132 or orders@rya.org.uk and then send your accompanying vouchers to our Accounts department where the amount will be credited against your account.
Vouchers are available in denominations of £10, £20, £50 and £100.
This is entirely down the the organisation redeeming the voucher. They may offer cash change, other vouchers, or no change at all.
Any vouchers sold from February 2016 will be valid for two years from the date of purchase. Please see the back of the vouchers for the expiration date.
The vouchers have been produced using the latest in secure production technology. There are security features embedded within the voucher that even RYA staff don't know about, as a last line of defence in case of fraudulent use of vouchers.
These are detailed on the reverse of your voucher. However these are repeated below for your information.
- This voucher may be used in any participating RYA Training Centre.
- This voucher may be used as full or part payment for the purchase of RYA Training Courses or any other goods or services that each individual retailer may deem acceptable.
- This voucher cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Certificate has value of 0.001p and is not transferable or assignable.
- Vouchers with the stub detached are void.
- Mutilated, damaged or defaced vouchers are void and may not be used.
- The RYA is not liable for any vouchers being lost, damaged or stolen.
- The decision to offer change in cash or vouchers, is the sole decision of the retailer. You are advised to ascertain this fact before entering into a transaction.
- Please note that other Terms and Conditions may apply when using this voucher at one of the participating outlets. You are advised to request details before entering into an agreement with any organisation.
Please e-mail publications@rya.org.uk or call during office hours on 02380 604244, to request a copy of the terms and conditions and for an application form.
In order to redeem the Voucher(s), you should tear off the stub that is on the left hand side of each voucher. This should be retained and is your fail-safe proof that you've accepted a Voucher. You should then send the main parts of the Vouchers accompanied by a completed Voucher Redemption Form complete in an envelope to:
Accounts (Vouchers), RYA House, Ensign Way, Hamble, SO31 4YA
Any RYA vouchers sold since February 2016 will be valid for two years from the date of purchase. The expiration date will be clearly displayed on the back of all vouchers bought after this date.
Your account with the RYA will be credited appropriately for Vouchers redeemed in line with the Terms and Conditions. If your account is in credit at any time, you may request a payment. This will normally be paid within 5-7 working days of receiving the request.
Funding for the RYA Voucher Scheme has changed as of January 1st 2022. Redeeming Training Centres will no longer face a 10% redemption charge. You will now be credited for the full total value of the vouchers being redeemed.
In setting up the RYA Voucher scheme we have paid special attention to the security of the Vouchers, and plenty of security features have been incorporated.
Forgeries can normally be detected by their feel which is usually stiffer and the print is normally glossier (particularly from laser printers). To determine if a Voucher is real, please consider the following points:
- Hold the voucher up to a strong light and you should see a multi tone watermark saying security bonded surrounding Orion (soldier with a shield).
- There is a metallic silver thread which is woven through the paper if you hold it up to the light it will appear as a solid shadow line
- If you look at the paper under UV light you will see random blue and yellow flecks in the paper.
- A hologram is applied to each voucher - this contains the words security BONDED at one angle, when tilted the colours change and you see a tick and OK.
- Each Voucher has a unique serial number printed onto it. If you are in any doubt as to the validity of the Voucher, please contact us to verify if the serial number has been issued by us, and to whom. Call us on 02380 604244 or e-mail publications@rya.org.uk
- You should only accept a Voucher with the stub still attached. This should be detached and retained by you as your fail-safe evidence of having accepted the Voucher, should the worst happen and the Vouchers become lost or stolen in the post.

As of January 1st 2022 redeeming Training Centres no longer face a 10% redemption charge.
You will now be credited for 100% of the value of the vouchers.
