The RYA technical team provide a number of services to help support clubs and classes running racing.
In House Certification
The IHC Scheme is a World Sailing initiative allowing manufacturers to carry out equipment control and certify equipment through a quality management system avoiding the need for boat owners to find and arange for sail measurement.

Measurement certificates

Portsmouth Yardstick
The PY Scheme has been running since the 1950s and continues to provide clubs with a method of facilitating mixed class handicap dinghy racing.

YTC
The RYAYTC powered by the RORC Rating Office is a new initiative to promote participation in racing by cruising yachts and cruiser-racers.

Race Officials Academy
The RYA's mission to create an aspirational environment for development and promotion of race officials under the age of 35.


Guidance & good practice
Under the umbrella of its racing charter, the RYA produces a range of guidance notes on the racing rules of sailing and the organisation of racing.
