Shorebased Specialist Short Courses Instructor
To be an effective instructor, credibility with students is crucial. This credibility stems from a genuine interest and deep engagement with the subject. Students often ask questions that extend beyond the core syllabus, seeking advice about equipment or specific situations. Without enthusiasm and a depth of knowledge well beyond the RYA syllabus, an instructor's credibility can easily be undermined. It is difficult to quantify in writing exactly what this means but without extensive practical experience of the subject, candidates are unlikely to be successful on this instructor course.
The courses listed below are short, providing limited time to develop teaching techniques or address knowledge gaps. Therefore, these courses focus on assessing the candidate's knowledge and instructional ability while ensuring they understand the required structure and standards. Candidates should ensure they have sufficient underpinning knowledge prior to attending.
