Stolen boats

Whilst boat theft is not prevalent you should know what steps to take if your boat or any of its equipment is stolen

If your boat is stolen you should immediately report the matter to your marina/harbour authority/local authority/navigation authority and the local police as well as your insurance company.

It is important to ensure you comply with the requirements of your insurers in terms of the security the boat, if you do not and the boat or any of its equipment does get stolen you may find that your insurers will not meet your claim.

You may also wish to report the theft to which offers a free comprehensive national database of stolen marine property which carries the support of many police forces. If you do not wish to receive calls direct you may put Crimestoppers in as the contact
