How to volunteer

The beauty of volunteering with the RYA network is shown in its versatility. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or complete novice, you can contribute your time through a variety of volunteer roles. For example, fundraising, event organisation, training, boat maintenance and much more.

Club volunteering

Get involved with your local club and find out just how much fun volunteering in boating can be.

Volunteers are at the heart of every clubs life. There are plenty of opportunities both on and off the water and you don't need to be able to sail to get involved. Before you take the leap it is worth considering the following: 

• What is motivating you to want to be involved (Leading an area of expertise, being there for your kid(s), wanting to meet new people and learn new skills?)
• Consider where you are based, how far you would travel and how much time you have/want to commit to volunteering.
